Let's use this picture as reference, shall we?

Which program should I use for caption making?

You can use any image editing program that allows you to add text, but ideally, you should be able to edit that text later if you feel like changing the format or writing later. I use Canva, but any other program should work just fine.

Make it readable!

Captions should be readable, in other words, when you see the picture, the text should be easy to read.

This one is a little long, so I'll use a shorter version for demonstration purposes.

Example captions

A simple caption. The text is composed of Lorem Ipsums for testing purposes.
This caption doesn't have margins. It's still readable, but I personally like it when margins are used.
The text has low contrast with the background. This makes the caption hard to read.
The font used in this caption is hard to read when used to make paragraphs. It is recommended to use a more readable font.
The paragraphs in this caption have less spacing than the lines of the same paragraph.
